Charles Gant

Professor of Neuropsychoimmunology and Genomics

Dr. Gant has practiced Integrative, Complementary/Alternative and Functional Medicine for over four decades. He provides reconstructive and mindfulness-based psychotherapy as well.  Dr. Gant regularly evaluates many common, important and modifiable single nucleotide polymorphisms and genomic panels in almost all patients.  Dr. Gant received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Hampden-Sydney College and his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School. His residency training was in family practice and psychiatry.  He pioneered many of the nutritional and detoxification treatments for the treatment of substance use and other mental disorders while serving as the medical director of Tully Hill Hospital, as a medical consultant at Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare and as a psychiatric consultant at numerous substance abuse and mental health clinics throughout Central New York. These protocols are currently being duplicated around the country by many healthcare practitioners and they promise to improve treatment outcomes and bring authentic healing to those suffering from all types of mental disorders.

Dr. Gant currently practices at National Integrated Health Associates (www.NIHADC.com ).  He has authored numerous publications, including 6 books such as ‘ADHD Complementary and Alternative Medicine Solutions’, ‘End Your Addiction Now’, ‘End Nicotine Addiction Now’ and ‘Awaken Your Godly Brain,’ which are available in bookstores or online.

Dr. Gant provides the latest, cutting-edge, diagnostic, functional and genomics-based, laboratory testing for his patients to define the root causes of symptoms which can then be targeted to optimize brain health and general wellness. This science-based approach can reverse the biochemical roots of aggression, addiction and mental disorders, as well as many medical disorders, which brings authentic healing and recovery. Dr. Gant also treats all common chronic medical conditions including cancer, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disorders and neurological conditions (e.g., childhood spectrum disorders and dementia).

In 2015, the collaboration between Dr. Gant and Dr. Wayne Sodano resulted in the creation of a program that serves the integrative medicine community exponentially by teaching the basic sciences of integrative and functional medicine and progressing sequentially toward a more complex understanding of genomics and the diagnosis and treatment of body systems dysfunction.  As a result, the program(s) at The College of Integrative Medicine (www.collegeofintegrativemedicine.org) are recognized nationwide and internationally by a number of higher education universities and institutes and practitioners seeking to learn and introduce integrative and functional medicine and genomics into their own practices.  Completion of the College of Integrative Medicine 300 hours of coursework permits doctorate level students to sit for their Diplomate in Nutrition which is sponsored by the American Clinical Board of Nutrition.  Dr. Gant currently has a chair at the European International University (EIU) as “Master Director” in their Master of Integrative and Functional Medicine masters degree program.

Alvin Danenberg

Dr. Alvin Danenberg, or Dr. Dan, as his patients call him, has been a periodontist for over four decades.

Dr. Alvin Danenberg received his dental degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1972, and his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Maryland, School of Graduate Dentistry in 1974. The following two years he was Chief of Periodontics at Charleston Air Force Base, and later had periodontal practices in Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina. Along with his active practice, he wrote and published from January 1990 through December 2001 “The Personal Report” newsletter, which was mailed quarterly to every periodontist in the United States. He joined Beaufort Family Dentistry in South Carolina in 2009 and now sees patients at both the Beaufort and Bluffton offices. Dr. Danenberg received advanced training in evolutionary nutrition from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health as well as The Center for Mind-Body Medicine. He received his CFMP (Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner) designation from Functional Medicine University in June 2014, and the Primal Blueprint Expert Certification in September 2014.

His G.U.M. Protocol, based on evolutionary nutrition, assists patients in eliminating unhealthy lifestyle routines and poor food choices by replacing them with healthy ones. The body needs nutrient-dense foods and healthy gut bacteria to create amazing results. Poor nutrition and unhealthy gut bacteria lead to various medical and dental diseases and imbalances.

Dr. Danenberg also provides a unique opportunity for anyone to discuss their nutrition and periodontal questions with him live online at DrDanenberg.com.

He and his wife Sue have been married since 1969 and have two children and three grandchildren.
